Misty & Magical Bloom Meadows Wedding, Willamstown MA | Suzie and Al

I’m a firm believer that any kind of precipitation makes a wedding day more magical. Anyone can have a normal blue sky, but rain is something special that you can’t plan for. Weather is an opportunity for magic that not everyone can have! Plus, it usually brings really wonderful, soft light with it that makes everyone’s skin glow. Win win!

Suzie and Al’s wedding in the Berkshires at Bloom Meadows got that special rainy day magic. The rain held off long enough for the sweetest first look in the woods, with their pup, Frankie following along. God bless the staff at Bloom Meadows who kept moving the ceremony set up in and out of the tent, as promising clear skies took a quick turn.

The rain was soft and dreamy on the tent as guests arrived and settled in for the ceremony. Bench seating was such a good call and gave everyone a good excuse to get cozy as a cloud wrapped around the wedding. Is there anything cooler than getting married in a freaking cloud?!

I cried a lot this day. Suzie is a dear friend of mine and basically kick started my wedding career years ago. When I first decided I wanted to get back into weddings, she convinced her friends to hire me. That one wedding ended up being every single one of their family and friend’s weddings in years to come. I have now basically become part of that family and have Suzie to thank for believing in me.

Fun story: When Suzie and Al started to talk about getting engaged, Alex started coming up with wild ideas on how to propose. One of his favorite ideas was to use a neon sign that said “My wife”. When it came time for it, he proposed in a treehouse, but kept the dream alive with his wedding gift to Suzie.

This day was just so freaking wonderful and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it. Suzie and Al, you guys are freaking magic and I miss you terribly!

I grew up in Maine and I had the best time with Suzie and Al for their engagement photos in Kennebunk. You can check out their absolute cuteness HERE!
