Surrounded by palm trees, La Valencia has the most incredible pink facade that screams classic Souther California. It’s also steps away from the beach and you can go see all the seals! Chloe is a total cartoon character and ran circles around us chasing seagulls and posing like a pro.
I’ve found myself very lucky in San Diego and surrounded by incredibly talented and helpful people. Kami is one of those people! When her and her husband became pup parents, I figured it was a good excuse for us all to go on adventure to check out Southern California’s Super Bloom.
If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t love having your photo taken. While Kaitlin originally didn’t want to even have a photographer, Chris was able to convince her and we ended up having a blast! Having the trial run of an engagement shoot before the wedding has always lead to confident and trusting clients day of.
The last time I was in Chicago, somehow someone convinced Pete, Nate and myself to do a Polar Bear Plunge with them on New Years Day. While I will never do that again, I have zero hesitations about visiting Chicago in the winter. When Nate told me he was getting married, I jumped on a plane as fast as I could in January to meet his lucky lady. I think Anna and I fell in love immediately and I am SO so excited for her and Nate.
Having vacationed in San Diego frequently, Lauren and Nick drove up from their home in Arizona to privately elope! When San Diego gets a little rain it becomes even more magical than it usually is. The colors, weather and perfect breeze all day PLUS that freaking gorgeous BHLD bridal cape were a divine combination perfectly highlighting the sweetness between Lauren and Nick.
I honestly think winter weddings are totally where it’s at, and it was a perfect day in Florida for a wedding. Friends and family came from all over the country to help throw the perfect party for these two. Kaylyn’s dad surprised her with the most incredible backdrop (Smashing Pumpkin vibes anyone?!) that made for such killer portraits
Balboa Park felt extra magical from the morning rain and I met up with Matt and Jenny in the lobby of the Museum of Man. We climbed up the 125+ stairs to the first deck of the California Tower and they committed their lives to each other with the help of Sherri Allen!
This was a special day. Backyard weddings are just so freaking special! While I love a huge, wild party, watching a couple be surrounded by and enjoying the people they love the most in a place near and dear to them is always the ultimate for me.
These two sweeties are long distance, so when Priya had a conference in San Diego, they turned it into a trip to celebrate their recent engagement! We soaked up all the magic that Balboa Park has to offer and headed to Sunset Cliffs for the nightly show.
This crew knows how to party and didn’t miss a beat when the power went out on the full dance floor. As if the music hadn’t stopped, everyone continued to finish singing the full song and somehow went on to sing a couple more full songs together.
When your favorite florists With Flourish hit you up and are like “We have an idea! Do you think we can make it happen in 24 hrs?!” you obviously say yes and have an amazing day with the best babes. Pampas grass is having such a moment and I think that it’s an amazing way to add incredible flare to your day.
Laura and George got married on the most perfect Cape Cod Day. The Cape Cod Maritime Museum was the perfect setting in George’s home town. With a killer band and everyone ending the night arm in arm singing “I get by with a little help from my friends”, it was an awesome party and I’m so so glad I was able to be a part of it
S’mores, beer and a campfire. Is there a better way to hang out?!I grew up in Maine and am always so happy whenever I get to go back. Add to that, my sweet buds Suzie and her fiance Alex, and you totally have the best day ever.
Engagement shoots where you feel comfortable are the best. We don’t need to be on an epic mountain top or lost in a super bloom for killer engagement photos. I spent a couple hours with Sydney and Mike wandering around their neighborhood and hitting some spots they frequent for date night.
While I was bummed that the Sanderson Sisters were not a part of this Salem, MA wedding, it was definitely a perfect fall New England day to showcase all of Salem’s charm. Sunflowers and patterns on patterns perfectly accented Molly and William’s big day as they exchanged vows that had absolutely everyone in tears.
