Engagement shoots where you feel comfortable are the best. We don’t need to be on an epic mountain top or lost in a super bloom for killer engagement photos. I spent a couple hours with Sydney and Mike wandering around their neighborhood and hitting some spots they frequent for date night.
I have been friends and roommates with Chris . We've known each other for years and you could tell something came alive in him when he met Aly. These two are perfect for each other (and not just because they are both super tall!). They make each other genuinely happy and how much they care about each other is completely evident. About 8 months ago Chris sent me a photo of one of the most gorgeous rings I've ever seen saying that he had put a deposit down on it. I screamed when he asked me if I would photograph him proposing to Aly and was so excited. The thing is, because I knew these two, I had to be much more commando, as I usually just pose as a tourist taking photos. They got a totally sweet sunset and before he got on one knee, Chris had to tell Aly to let go of him because she was hugging him so tight. They just love being around each other and are totally magnetic. So much joy and love between them the entire time. It was so so awesome and it was honor to be a part of it.
The best days are the ones where the only plans you have are to meet up with people you love and just enjoy the day. My friends Mel and Al sell antiques (White Star Antiques)and had this gorgeous map of Boston that I wanted to buy from them, so they came up to Boston. It was the most gorgeous day and after like the best Indian Food I have ever had, we headed to the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Despite being a cemetery, it's such a totally gorgeous area and is a lovely place to wander. A+ day.
I must totally be a good luck charm, because every proposal I have shot so far has ended up with a yes :) This day ended up being a bit colder than we thought it would be and Alyssa definitely needed a bit of coaxing to get her to the spot but it all ended up working out! These two are incredibly sweet with each other and it was so cool to be able to shoot so many purely organic, intimate moments.
I can not say enough how much I love shooting proposals. Going through the pictures afterwards is always amazing because the moment it self goes so quickly. I love being able to help preserve such a quick, but important moment in people's lives.
Taylor emailed me on a Sunday morning, hoping that we could do an emergency engagement shoot that night! She caught me at just the right time and we were able to book something for magic hour that night. She told me that she hadn't planned on engagement photos, but had been putting together the wedding website with her fiance Taylor, only to realize that they didn't really have any nice photos of each other.
These two ended up being a total dream to shoot and I love these photos! I was also so happy to see Acorn Street finally cleared up.
I met up with Rebecca and Dave in the Financial District last week. I don't spend a whole lot of time around here because it's not a particularly inspiring area for me. Rebecca, on the other hand, really loves this area. It was super cool to have her show me around and it really opened me up to the city. While I constantly wish I was in the mountains, I'm learning to love the city again and understand it's charm.
Rebecca and Dave are such a fun couple who have such excellent chemistry. They were a ton of fun and so natural in front of the camera!
