Hitting the two year mark with them, I have shot over 120 weddings in the past two years and I have learned so SO much. I have also worked at so many amazing venues, and this year included some of my favorite alternative San Diego wedding and elopement venues:
I have never liked New Years. I've had a lot of exhausting New Years Eve's and now just try to get as far away from civilization as possible. This year we went out to the desert and drank champagne around a fire and fed some carrots to some wild donkeys. Living in California has been a huge adjustment, but it has all been so worth it to have so many cool adventures close by.
I recently got a JORD watch and it's the first time I've owned a watch that didn't turn my wrist green, so I had to grab a couple shots of it. I'm completely obsessed. You can check them out https://www.jordwatches.com/g/madelinebarr
Toni and Kevin were the first couple who put their trust in me when I decided I wanted to pursue wedding photography full time. They are friends of a friend and barely even wanted photos, but hired me over a year before their wedding. I am so eternally grateful to them for putting their trust in me and on top of that, having such an amazing, colorful wedding, full of rad people who I've connected with all over the country. The love these two share is so powerful and there was not a dry eye in the ceremony (myself included). I feel honored to have been a part of such an awesome day filled with such powerful love and connection and am so glad that they chose me. They also happen to have the floppiest, cutest corgi on the planet and if there's a dog present, count me in. I would definitely recommend checking out their engagement shoot when he was the teeny, tinest nugget! I highly recommend checking that out HERE!
Thank you again Toni and Kevin and I'll see you this Fall!
The forecast was for a hurricane, but Matt and Lauren figured we could still make an adventure out of their engagement shoot. I am so glad they did because this is one of my favorite shoots of all time. I will take a stormy and moody over perfect weather any day. Top that off with a perfect couple who ooze chemistry and love having fun, and I'm all in. I think about this shoot pretty much on a daily basis and can NOT wait to shoot their wedding this summer!
Is there anything better than spending a lovely day outside with lovely people? I don't think so either, which is why I love my job. Zandy and her family were my very first clients in Boston and I always have such lovely time hanging out with them.
